Summer Summer Summer Summer. Haaa, another hot day is coming in our way! Well, that’s not our only problem! During this season, we tend to go out of the town to discover new places and to unwind ourselves from work.  The most common things that we say before going on a trip are:

“Oh my gosh, I don’t have any money, but I want to come.”

“I don’t have any new clothes.”

“I haven’t shopped! I can’t come and I don’t have any money.”

“It’s too hot! I do not know what to wear!”

Well, most of it is the things that we commonly say right? Money and clothes are the two things that are always in our mind when it comes to outing. Sometimes we even ask ourselves “Why is it so hard to pick a clothes to wear for us girls than the boys?!” That’s the question that’s always intruding in our mind.  The thing is we should worry less on what we are going to wear on a certain occasion as long as you feel good and comfortable with what you’re wearing you’re good to go!

image

Me and Andrea decided to wear “not really bikini-type” swimwear. Why I call it “not-really-a-bikini type? Because if you would look it from a distance, we seem like wearing a two piece swimsuit. Well we are however, we made use of cover ups and shorts. Cover ups and shorts does not make you look “less sexy”. I believe, sexiness is measure on how your clothes fit your proportions. The bottom looks much of a short but only shorter. [Can you get my point?] I know it’s confusing to understand but take a look to what we are wearing.

Here’s Andrea’s “not really bikini type” outfit. Notice the scarf? So you think scarves only work during the cold times huh? Well, you’re totally wrong it can also be use during this kind of season. Be playful enough to discover a way of re-using your old scarf, try new and different knots. Andrea also decided to try prints on prints outfit, her top and her cover-up.

So I decided to use a lace cover up instead of see-through because most people use that kind of fabric. Lace adds a little drama effect on what I’m wearing, it looks like you’re not wearing swimsuit at all.  So if you’re going somewhere after you swam and want to swim again afterwards, just put on your cover up to look ‘not’ revealing. Unless you’re in bora or some beach HAHA

We also did some watery-splash shot hahaha, a head-bang splash!

After months of silence! The sadako sister’s are back with loads of picture from their cavite roadtrip-ish 1 DAY VACATION.

There’s just so many pictures and memories to post so we’ll divide our trip in several posts. This post will be about the venue. The venue is relaxing. Despite the extreme heat caused by the sun, we were able to enjoy our natural SAUNA SPA with water. Haha! It was really hot and thanks to the gazillion of tall coconut trees around the pool, our skin were not roasted.

Aside from Meriel and I, our friend Janselle and Meriel’s cousin ‘chilled’ with us. The venue lacked chairs that we have to pay 8 pesos for each mono block chairs that we’ll rent. The pool was quite large. Fortunately, it was easier for us to find ‘our spot’ in the pool. Let alone, it isn’t a public pool. Plus! There was a bridge in the middle. I think it is used to divide the pool into two. The kiddie pool and the ‘adult’ i-dont-really-know-the-right-term pool. Haha! You pass under the bridge. It felt like a cave for me. And by cave, i meant NO SUN DIRECT SUN EXPOSURE. So if it gets really bright and hot, alam na!!

Meriel and I swam and captured photographs (what we always do together!). We tried to capture few (if i may use the most cliche yet understandable term for it) “tumblr-worthy” pictures. We had to capture photographs because the venue is too far from our cribs that we felt longing as if it’s our last. And those pictures we’ll be posting soon :)

There were bushes and a lot of greens around. Around the pool were a playground, a parking lot, a coconut trees replica of the Parthenon, a secluded garden and a basketball court.

Once I gazed upon a shoe. I caught my attention and I heard myself gasp. Shhh. By then I told myself, what a wonderful thing has caught my eye. Then I walked and picked it up. I stared at it and marvelled it for a while. The more I look at it, the more I realize that this is unique from all other shoes that I’ve seen. This one seems to be different. I sighed. I asked myself, what if this shoe is a human being like me? Will it be appreciated by others like the way I do? Will it have the same uniqueness as I’ve seen?

Of course, surely, it will. Like a sweet and charming little child, its mother will always cradle it in her arms where it looks so fragile and delicate. It will stay there for a while where it is protected and safe. Upon its first step she will surely cry knowing that once she knows as a baby is now ready to break away from her safe and loving arms. Exposed to the world it is eager to discover, it will be inquisitive and curious about the things around it; and as it grows knowledgeable  it will be able to reach many places, explore new things and conceive unique ideas. However, there will come a time where it will begin to question all the things that he had learned. It comes up with its own. It will defy the odds and people may think of it as a threat; someone who is going mad. But eventually they will thank it for all that it has done. All of man will praise it. As any man will be, it will be overly indulged in its prominence and many will die to be called as its friend.

But then as the years pass by and lights go dim, when it is old and weary and no one seems to notice. It then will see what the real world is, cruel and mean. People will love at your best but not one will care about you at your worst. Everyone will see what you did but never will know how you did them. After all that it had done and after that it had gave up, this is how his life will end; alone and no one will seem to remember. In its last breath it will think of its mother, how it felt when it was in her soft tender loving arms. Oh how it wishes that it never grew up so it could stay forever where it is safe and sound. But in its last sigh, it will surely wish it could have stayed as it is; a shoe - just a shoe, pure and innocent.

Once I gazed upon a shoe. It is a precious one - a unique one. By then felt happiness that is brings and I stopped and think for a while. “If this would be a man I will be certain that it will be welcomed to the world with open arms. But as time goes by it will be useless, it will lose it’s worth.” All people were made equal by God but some are just too arrogant and stupid not to know that the life we have, we owe it to God who made us all and that would be the same reason why we should make every second worthwhile. Isn’t it that we should value something especially when we know that it won’t last long? Just like any shoe, would you like to live in this world and once you have served your purpose you will end up worthless? Look at that old and dusty shoes of yours, have you ever thought that if that could speak it could have begged for the least of your attention and care just like how every simple thing would beg for you in this world that we live in? Think about it. You might be surprised.

This coming summer, I’ve been looking forward to have a photoshoot with my sis, Andrea, at a beach. A white-sand beach would be the best setting, but since it’s not yet that summer-y. I’d like to have a photoshoot in a flowery place; perhaps, a garden place would be splendid.

I thought of summer when I was at my uncle’s wedding, their motif is very vintage and classic. They made the garden look like it’s a different place, it’s like I’m Miley Stewart in Nashville, Tennessee [although, I haven’t been there]. The ambiance let’s you relax and makes you forgot your problems; it makes you feel homey; it is as if it’s your safe haven.

 image

The wedding reception is in Balay Taal at Tagaytay. Yes, it’s so vintage that I’d like to stay there for a long-long time. I’m totally in love with antique things and all that old-classic setting. Reminds me of the past being simple yet elegant.

image

The lights that you can see in the picture have been hung by the bride’s father. It would have been astonishing if we would utilize the same lights for our photo-shoot and have these lights cluttered all-over the wall or the ground.

image

Another thing, why I’m sharing this thing about you, it’s because I wanted to let everyone see that Philippine has a wonderful scenery. You will also need the help of the setting to reveal the versatility of your outfit. It would be pretty nice to have a setting that fits your outfit quite perfectly.

So this is the place where i’d like to have our second shoot for summer. I am hoping that we’ll achieve it.

It’s been last year since I last wrote here! Haha. Are you feeling the summer vibes? Because I am! so here’s a shoot we did last year which will definetly help you with your summer get-up.

Here’s Meriel wearing her DIY plaid top, sperry gold shoes and denim shorts. Plaid is the best print for summer! Haven’t you noticed that several advertisement posters of brands shows a hunk model wearing a buttoned-down plaid polo on a desert or seashore background with a natural looking lightning from a invisible sun in it. Those photos were my motivation when I was capturing Meriel.

I pretty much played with neon and steel accesories. It is already given that neon  is hip EVERY summer because neon colors show the brightness of your personality and mood. Who wants to be all gloomy during summer, right? In my outfit, I used the most cliche’ of all neon colors, along black and white. I adorned it with metal colors such as gold and silver. I strongly think, metal colors with white and black look good with a little-OOMPH from neon pieces and vice-versa.

A tip: if you’re going on a sudden trip to a beach or greeny place that you dont have time to contemplate and brainstorm about your outfits for that trip, Bring the basics! It may sound and look ordinary but its allure depends on how you accesorize and carry (*cough* model) it. All you have to be is: CONFIDENT and everything else will follow :)

[Basic pieces for summer: V-neck, cut top, cropped top, see-through, lace, denims, sleeveless polo, cropped vest, shorts, trousers, flowy skirts, flip-flops, gladiator shoes, boat shoes, low-cut converse, tribal accesories, wood accesories, feather earrings, nail polish (off course)]

[Basic prints and designs for summer: acid-wash, faded color, ragged, plaid, floral, plain bright colors, stripes, ombre, aztec]

You might be asking what JAS is; that’s why I created this blog entry for more information. It is a new-fangled store in the fashion world, wherein they sell heels, wedges, pumps and flats for girls who are looking for a different sketch. Trying different stores is a fun way to explore unique designs, different quality and new friends. Having these kinds of shoes will make you even more glamorous just like our friend, Jennica Sanchez, who is a blogger like us and a girl who loves posting her look on lookbook.nu.

I love this Pink Open-wedge and I want to have this. It is very essential for us girls to have one like this because it looks sporty yet girly. This would look wonderful with a simple shirt, a scarf and a pair of denim shorts paired with some bangles and ballers. How fabulous is that!

image

This shoe looks quite gothic yet fabulous at the same time. Classic Black Open-booties, a brilliant piece to wear with either a pair of jeans or shorts. If you want to be covered up, try it with leggings or skinny jeans. If you want to be some gothic chic, try it with a corset, vest and shorts. (OR A LACE LITTLE BLACK DRESS - Andrea)

There are at least 9 shoes in this collection and it would take a long time if we would be giving you every detail of each pair of shoes, but no worries, we will be posting the details on how you can view each and every shoe that you happen to like, along with tip upon how to pair it up with various garments. By the way, Jennica Sanchez is the owner of this store.

Aztec Print. I have to admit, this is by far one of the most significant trends today. I adore aztec because it’s made up of plain shapes and figures that when combined makes an attractive pattern that expresses both simplicity and complication. Not only it reveals bohemian and summer vibes but also it grants a feeling of lax and calmness.

So meriel and I opted to wear aztec for our outfit and mix them with something plain to balance the look. She wore an aztec tube of pink, yellow and white that has a base color black while I wore a purple and neon cotton candy-looking aztec skirt. We thought a loud aztec design and plain pair will appear nice.

And just a tip about dressing up: Your outfit must follow propriety and it must comfortable to wear. I believe you will not appreciate your outfit if it causes pain, humiliation and bruises. And there’s always a little window in your eyes and gestures that will allow people to see whether you’re really enjoying your outfit. And once you don’t appreciate your look, the crowd will not also.

A sneak peak of our photoshoot! and how comfort was instantly altered to fun.

Been thinking of starting a business with my co-owner of this blog, Andrea and our friend, Char Febre.

Lately, I have been doing non-sense stuff made out of recycled materials due to boredom. Then Char advised me that I should start a business and of course, she wants to be a part of that business.

I was thinking of the possible outcomes and I realized that I would [we would] be needing a capital but then Char told me that we can buy cheap materials at a place where to buy those things. A name for our shop would be easy, so I’m just setting that aside, but to have some buyers would be a problem.

If we would be selling some accessories, there is a lot of competition on facebook. But if we would be making our own design, some people might find it interesting ‘cause it’s our own, it’s a self-made accessory.  Some sellers are retailers; they buy things from a certain place then sell it with their own price.

I believe that some of our problems are solved. The question is, are we going to be able to pursue this?

I don’t know why, but I love posting my looks here on tumblr. Tumblr is a blog website after all and I’d like to blog a lot of things about fashion. It’s my (Meriel’s) way of advising you guys about fashion.

I’m doing this blog it’s because I’ve been influence by Laureen Uy. And by influence, I mean a lot. She’s my idol, the one I look up to in clothing, she just inspires me a lot. In every garment that she matches-up, I noticed that there will always be something vibrant whether it’s just an accessory or not. Her way of dressing up is what I’ve always wanted to arrange myself.

Another blogger who inspires me too is Kryz Uy. Her pale, vintage fun way of clothing is just a bomb. I’m totally a fan of her archaic, formal, nice-girl look. Whenever I’m going to attend a formal event, I immediately visit her blog for some stimulus way of dressing up. If you’ll be observant, you’ll be able to get a message by her trends and that is "Always Stay Classy."

I don’t know why but some people tend to say Camille Co’s way of getting dress is just weird (when it’s not). I appreciate and fervor every single piece of clothing she wears. The way she mix ‘n’ match every single garment she has.

The real thing is, our dream is to be like one of those bloggers that are acknowledge by their fabricated work and looks. It would be lovely if we would be able to attend some fashion event and give away things that are really lovely for you guys. We want to be known as the girls who dreamed with their heels on, the girls who looked up to the top bloggers of the Philippines and hopefully became one.

So this post will serve as the bedrock of our blog that will soon to be known by stupendous fashion enthusiast.

Last 10/26/12 was the first time I (andrea) watched live a legit fashion show with legit models. I’ve watched few before but it was just a school activity.

Yup we watched the philippine fashion week: spring and summer collection with two of our mutual friends. Thanks to Meriel’s tito/uncle/family friend who is a designer and happened to have the ability to invite a number of people for free. Our seats weren’t the best although atleast we were able to seat and just a glimpse on your left you could see Liz Uy and Vice Ganda.

liz uy was on Vice’s left. Cant see her from this photo

I would like to wear this as my prom dress. - andrea

We went home instantly cos there was also a tanduay fest in MOA that day and if we chose to stay longer we might have grappled upon finding a taxi that would acquiesce to take us to our desired destination that late also considering the number of people asking for a taxi hitch. We went to her (meriel’s) house like 11-12 in the evening/midnight and finally proclaimed a sleepover. We slept at… 12….noon Well, i did. But it was merely a nap. Honestly, we never really slept (excluding enzo). While we were growing instant bulging and exaggerated eyeliner (eyebags) below our eyes, we thought that 7 am was the best time to finally shoot for a lookbook post. So we dressed up and took outfit photos!!!

(photos to be posted soon)
